About Us

Colt, Inc. was incorporated December 1994 as a Texas Corporation under the ownership of Kip D. Vincent. Colt was established to address the need for experience in the processing for beneficial use and recycling of scrap tires. The staff has over 100 years of experience combined in all aspects of whole scrap tire recycling. Colt was a founding member of the National Association of Scrap Tire Processors (NASTP) now the Tire and Rubber Division of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI). Colt, Inc. is licensed and recognized by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality as a Scrap Tire Processor and Transporter in Scott, LA, and in New Orleans, LA, Colt is also permitted in Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas as a Waste Tire Transporter/Hauler.

Experience

Personnel experience includes the collection and processing of over 75 million scrap tires. The implementation of routing and tire collection systems as well as wholesale market research for used tires and end market development for processed tire material. Colt can handle any size of scrap tire and is the most sought-after company for remediation of unauthorized tire piles in Louisiana.

While contracted to one of the largest scrap tire recyclers in the country Emanuel Tire, Colt managed special projects including but not limited to:


  • A project in Rhode Island to cut 50 foot fire lanes in a stockpile of over 20 million tires.
  • Supplied tire rubber to BFI in New Hampshire for a closure cap at one of their local landfills.
  • The shredding and sizing of whole tire rubber for special markets at the Baltimore, MD plant.
